Overview of Services

YMCRFD has an extensive training program to ensure that our crews are prepared to handle a wide variety of emergencies. Our firefighters are committed to providing the best service possible to the members, guests and employees of the Yellowstone Club and log thousands of hours of training each year to ensure that commitment.

Emergency Services

The YMCRFD provides emergency medical services, rescue, hazardous material mitigation, structural and wildland firefighting, and fire prevention services to the Yellowstone Club. We are staffed 24 hours a day year-round with shifts of six firefighters and a paramedic. You can reach the YMCRFD by calling 406-993-2285. In case of an emergency, call 406-993-2002.

Our fleet includes:

  • Fire pumper
  • Ladder truck
  • Water tender
  • Wildland brush trucks
  • Two ambulances

Fire Prevention

YMCFD personnel regularly conduct fire inspections for the Club’s commercial properties, pre-construction site reviews for all properties, and pre-plans for both commercial buildings and private residences. Our pre-construction site reviews ensure that proper fuel mitigation requirements have been met prior to construction beginning for all properties in YC. These reviews help determine that proper defensible space has been established for all structures in the event of a Wildland fire.

Pre-Plans walk-throughs are conducted on a regular basis by department personnel. Crews visit properties and make notes on electrical and gas locations and shut-offs, fire hydrant distances, approximate building size and dimensions, and identify any special circumstances that might hamper crews during an emergency. Firefighters have immediate access to this information when responding to incidents. Pre-Plans for private residences are only completed if the property owner/manager gives prior permission for fire personnel to conduct them but they are highly recommended.
